Kathleen Wilson Appointed Vice President, Chief Healthcare Officer

January 06, 2022

Silver Spring, Md. January 6, 2022 - Kathleen Wilson has accepted an invitation from the board of Adventist Risk Management, Inc. (ARM) to serve as Vice President and Chief Healthcare Officer. She assumed her new role effective January 1.

“I’m excited for Kathleen to officially join the ARM team,” states James Winegardner, ARM president and chief executive officer. “As a consultant, Kathleen contributed her years of experience and industry expertise to the benefit of our Ascend to Wholeness healthcare plan and its members. She was the natural choice as we looked to find someone to fill this position permanently.”

Wilson comes to this position with extensive experience in the healthcare insurance industry as well as a long history working with the ARM. As the Benefits Administration Executive for Adventist Health, her team assisted ARM with the design of the Ascend to Wholeness healthcare plans in 2017. Since 2019, she served as a consultant for ARM’s Healthcare and Benefits team.

“Over the last two and a half years Kathleen has been a tremendous resource for our Healthcare and Benefits team,” states Andrew Moll, ARM vice president and chief financial officer. “I have seen this up close as she helped us fine tune processes, update plan documents, and improve the overall understanding of what ARM is administrating from a financial perspective. Her professionalism and attention to detail will be a big asset to ARM and to the Adventist Church as a whole.”

Wilson worked in various positions for Adventist Health (AH) for 35 years, including more than 25 years at the AH corporate office in Roseville, CA. For five years, she served as Vice President of Benefits Administration at AH before she began consulting in 2019. She has a degree in Public Administration from California State Univeristy, Chico. Wilson has been a long-time member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and previously served as President of its Sacramento Valley chapter.

The ARM Healthcare and Benefits team administers employer-provided and voluntary benefits to approximately 10,000 employees of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the United States. These benefits include the Ascend to Wholeness healthcare plans, which provide health insurance to more than 25,000 individuals, including employee families.
