As vice president of Adventist Risk Management, Inc., Sharon M. Mabena is responsible for overseeing the departments of Underwriting, Risk Placement, Claims and Legal. A financial professional with experience in administration and management, Mabena works with the companies managed by ARM: Gencon Insurance company of Vermont, Gencon International Insurance Company, Ltd., Gencon Insurance Service, Inc., and Gencon Agency, Inc. She also serves as corporate secretary for these companies.

Mabena has worked for ARM since 2003, first as an internal auditor, then chief accountant, and most recently director of Accounting. A native of Zambia, Africa, Mabena is a graduate of Oakwood College in Huntsville, AL, with a degree in Business Administration. She later earned her MBA from Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, TN. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
