Physical Activity for Employees

Many workers say they do not have time to exercise. This is a typical excuse for the individual who does not incorporate a regular exercise regimen into his or her lifestyle. However, this statement is not entirely true. By incorporating physical activity at the workplace, employees could improve their health.

For example, take a break and stretch after every 20 minutes of sitting. Even if you forget to do it at every interval, stretch as soon as you remember. For sample stretches click here.

Other examples:

* Bring your tennis shoes and take a walk during your lunch break.
* Leave a set of weights at your work place and tone your muscles during your break.
* Park your car further from your building.
* Walk over to your coworkers work station instead of e-mailing or calling them with your question or comment.
