Osteoporosis Prevention

Osteoporosis is a disease that causes bones to become porous, fragile, and prone to breakage. Some risk factors are uncontrollable, such as age and gender; controllable risk factors include inactivity, poor diet, vitamin D and calcium deficiency, and smoking.

Caucasian and Asian women of small build typically face the most risk. To find out if you are at risk and for more information on osteoporosis prevention go here.
