(ARM) is announcing the hiring of Mike Mwemba as the new Manager of Placement Services. Mwemba begins his new responsibilities at the company’s international headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland.
“I am very pleased to announce this appointment,” said ARM vice-president for Sales and Client Care, Tim Northrop. “We welcome Mike to this new position and have confidence that his strong commitment to the ministry of ARM, its values, and his vast experience in the insurance industry will be vital to our future.”
Mwemba, who has 25 years of experience working in the insurance and finance industries both domestically and internationally, will be responsible for obtaining insurance coverage that falls outside of the parameters of ARM’s captive insurance company.
Prior to joining ARM, Mwemba held the positions of Director at Upfront Risk Consultants, Managing Director at Cavmont Capital Insurance Corporation Limited and Managing Director at Zambia State Insurance Corporation Limited. Mwemba was also appointed by the government of Zambia as Deputy Registrar to establish the Pension and Insurance Authority under the auspices of the World Bank.
Mwemba holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, MI, and a BA in Risk Management from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland, UK, as well as an MS in Information Systems from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI.
Mwemba is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII). He is a member of the American Grant Writers Association (AGWA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of Insurance and Risk Managers in Commerce and Industry (AIRMIC).
